Alb Filter Active Plus Cartridge

With added safety and less limescale

The Active Plus+ filter cartridge made of BIOTON filter media reliably removes pollutants, unpleasant taste, and visible impurities from water. Additionally, it filters out a variety of bacteria and reduces limescale content by 4-6 °dH using an ion exchanger.
The Active Plus+ offers very similar properties to the Active activated carbon cartridge, but is especially suitable for users who want to benefit from additional limescale and bacteria reduction.

NOTE

The Active Plus+ cartridge is sensitive to drying out and is therefore delivered vacuum-sealed. For occasional use, for example when camping, please choose the Active cartridge.

What is filtered?

Heavy metals like lead and copper

The adsorbing effect of BIOTON binds heavy metals such as lead and copper in drinking water.

Microplastics and other fine particles

Due to the ultra-fine structure of the filter medium, microscopic particles and plastic particles down to 0.7 µm are reliably filtered out.

Chlorine and other taste impairments

BIOTON binds annoying odors (chlorine, chlorinated hydrocarbons, CFCs, etc.) and taste impairments in drinking water.

Pesticides and drug residues

Organic compounds such as pesticide residues, herbicides, insecticides, drug residues, hormones and hormone-like substances are reduced.

Bacteria and germs

Germ protection without chemicals. Mechanical germ barrier for bacteria up to 0.7 µm.

Limescale and limescale compounds

Water softening through ion exchange and structural alteration of limescale compounds (less adhesive surface)

Binds odors and pollutants

Due to the strong surface forces (adhesion) of BIOTON, the water is filtered from unwanted turbidity and odors such as chlorine, as well as organic compounds and pollutants. These include drug residues, hormones, pesticides/plant protection products, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and many more.

Filters microplastics, bacteria and germs down to 0.7µm

Bioton has a pore size of only 0.7 µm (0.0007 mm). This means that even very fine particles are effectively retained by the increasingly narrowing structure. The Active Plus cartridge thus offers protection against sand, rust, microplastics, as well as germs and bacteria.

Limescale reduction through ion exchange (softening effect)

In water treatment, a softening (limescale reduction) of the water is achieved through the chemical process of "ion exchange". Unwanted salts are removed from the water with the help of cation and anion exchangers. For example, a calcium molecule is replaced by two sodium molecules.
